NJC Earns NJCAA and Region IX All-Academic Teams, An Additional 72 Northeastern Student Athletes Were Honored

Northeastern Junior College Student-Athletes Excel in the Classroom with Regional and National Academic Honors
Sterling, CO — July 24, 2025
Northeastern Junior College (NJC) is proud to announce that 72 of its student-athletes have earned Region 9 Academic Honors for the 2024–2025 academic year, with 45 of those also receiving prestigious NJCAA All-Academic Honors. These accolades reflect the college's strong commitment to academic excellence alongside athletic achievement.
In addition to individual honors, six of NJC's ten athletic teams were recognized with NJCAA Academic Team GPA Awards for maintaining a cumulative team GPA above 3.0. The honored teams and their GPAs are:
- Men's Soccer – 3.3 (Highest GPA among all NJC athletic teams)
- Volleyball – 3.26
- Women's Golf – 3.24
- Women's Basketball – 3.22
- Women's Soccer – 3.07
- Baseball – 3.06
"These achievements are a testament to the dedication and discipline of our student-athletes, coaches, and academic support staff," said Marci Henry, NJC Athletic Director. "Balancing the demands of collegiate athletics with academic rigor is no small feat, and we are incredibly proud of the way our teams continue to represent Northeastern with excellence both on the field and in the classroom."
