Bio

Tom Myers enters his 7th season as Head Softball Coach at Northeastern Junior College taking over the program in the spring of 2016.  Since his arrival, Northeastern softball players have received multiple academic and athletic honors which include 1 NJCAA All-American, 1 NFCA All-American, 11 All-Region IX Players, 2 Region IX Freshman of the Year, 1 Region IX Player of the year and 35 Academic All-Americans.

In March of 2021, Myers became the winningest softball coach in program history en route to a record breaking 36 win season earning a share of the 2021 Region IX regular season title and an appearance in the Region IX championship.  Offensively, the 2021 squad finished in the top 10 nationally in almost all categories ending the season with a program record 100 home runs and a .397 batting average.

Myers, a native of Sterling, Colorado began his coaching career in 2004 as a volunteer assistant baseball coach at Sterling High School.  His coaching resume also includes a five-year stint (two as head baseball coach) at Kimberly High School (Kimberly, ID) where his teams finished a combined 43-9, winning the school’s first-ever district titles (2011-2012), a fourth-place state finish in 2011 and a second-place finish in 2012. Both seasons breaking the school record for wins and receiving conference coach of the year. 

Moving back to Sterling in 2013, Myers took the head baseball coaching position at Sterling High School, where his club made the postseason for the first time since 2005.  In the summer of 2015, Myers managed the Sterling Xpress Collegiate Baseball Club, finishing second in the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Baseball League and falling one game short of the National Baseball Congress World Series.

Myers played baseball collegiately at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls (2000-2002) under hall of fame coach Skip Walker.  In his 2002 season, Myers was awarded Scenic West Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the year as well as the Western District Defensive Player of the Year.  Myers finished his playing career at Colorado Mesa University but continued his academic career at CSU-Pueblo graduating in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science/Health Promotion as well as a minor in Physical Education.

Myers lives in Sterling with his wife Keri and children Christian and Mallory.
