Northeastern adds Cheer

Northeastern Junior College is pleased to announce the start of Cheer during the 2023-2024 academic year. The team will be led by Kylee Davidson, Krystal Frick, and Megan Blair. Kylee is the owner of Ignite Athletics a cheer company with over 80 students. She is a former UNC Bear Cheerleader and Denver Nugget Cheerleader. Krystal and Megan also instruct at Ignite Athletics, and both have successful cheer and dance experience.

“We are so excited to bring cheer to Northeastern”, said Athletic Director Marci Henry. “It will boost school spirit and strengthen our sense of community as well as provide support to our other student-athletes in competition. It also provides another opportunity for our students participating to showcase their talents during our home games and competitions.”

In person tryouts for the team will be on June 10, 2023, from 9 am – 2 pm.  The coaches will offer an optional $50 Tryout Clinic on June 9 from 4 pm – 6 pm.  Both sessions will be held at the Bank of Colorado Event Center on the campus of Northeastern Junior College.
