Make It Three In A Row For Northeastern Baseball Over The Otero Rattlers, After They Win Game 3 13-10

Northeastern Baseball moves to 3-0 in Region IX play, as they take down the Otero Rattlers 13-10 in game three of the four game series on Sunday. Hudson Hoy was named the DDC Player of the Game. Hoy went 2-4 at the plate, hitting one home run, scoring two runs and driving in four runs. 

Both offenses were strong in the game as the Plainsmen tallied 11 hits and the Rattlers totalled 10 hits in the contest. The Plainsmen got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Michael Clark singled, scoring one run and Hudson Hoy homered to right field, scoring two runs and an error scored one more run. Northeastern added to it's lead in the bottom of the third after Clark doubled to left field, a dropped third strike by the Rattlers, Carson Sauter grounded out and Lewis Coonts doubled to left field, each scoring one run. The Rattlers scored 5 runs in the top of the fourth, thanks to a grand slam in the inning. Five more Plainsmen runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 13-6. Hoy singled, scoring two runs and Sauter homered to center field, scoring three runs. 

Gaving Lamont started the game for Northeastern and ended up earning the win. Lamont went four innings, giving up 6 runs (one earned) on 6 hits, walking two and striking out 6 batters. Matt Yarish threw two innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on four hits, walking two and striking out 5 batters. Brayden Stork came in and earned the save in the end. Stork threw one inning of shut-out ball, striking out two batters. Clark, Coonts, Max Valerio and Hoy each collected two hits for the Plainsmen.
