Northeastern Baseball Falls To Luna Community College In First Game of The Four Game Home Series

Northeasern Baseball falls 14-6 to Luna Community College in game one of the four game home series. Yusei Uzawa was named the DDC Player of the Game. Uzawa went 2-4 at the plate, hitting one double, stealing one base and scoring two runs. 

A ground out by Brayden Stufft put Northeastern on the board in the bottom of the first inning. In the bottom of the fourth, the Plainsmen broke up the tie when Brendan Clelland singled, scoring two runs. Then a single by Hudson Hoy followed to extend the lead to 4-1. The Rough Riders scored 6 runs in the top of the fifth to make the game 7-4. Anield Del Orbe hit a solo home run to left in the bottom of the sixth for Northeasten. 

Gavin Lamont started the game for Northeastern and ended up taking the loss. Lamont went 4.2 innings, giving up 6 unearned runs on 6 hits, walking one batter and striking out three batters. Matt Yarish threw one inning, giving up 5 earned runs on five hits and walked one batter. Sebastian Miranda threw .2 innings, giving up three earned runs on four hits, walking one batter and striking out one batter. Deacon Trenkle threw .2 innings and struck out one batter.

Northeastern accumulated 10 hits in the contest. Uzawa and Clelland each collected two hits in the contest. Clelland led the team with two runs batted in.
