Northeastern Baseball Bounces Back And Defeats Luna Community College 12-5 In Game Two

Northeastern Baseball gets back to it's winning ways, as they take down Luna Community College 12-5 in game two of the four game home series. Tanner Peerey was named the DDC Player of the Game. Peerey went 2-4 at the plate, hitting one double, drawing one walk, stealing three bases, scored two runs and knocked in four runs. 

The Plainsmen were the first to get on the board in the bottom of the first inning when Michael Clark drew a walk, scoring one run. A single by Peerey gave Northeastern the lead, 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Plainsmen scored 6 runs on 5 hits in the bottom of the sixth. Brendan Clelland was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Harrison Good singled, scoring one run, Peerey doubled, scoring three runs and Brayden Stufft singled, scoring one run. Northeastern added three more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning on three hits. Good hit a solo home run to left field, Stufft singled, scoring one run and Clark grounded out, scoring one run.

Tony Slizowski started the game for Northeastern and ended up earning the win. Slizowski went 6.1 innings, giving up three earned runs on 6 hits, walking three batters and striking out two batters. Evan Lamunyon threw 2.2 innings of relief, giving up two unearned runs on one hit, walking two batters and striking out two batters. The Plainsmen accumulated 12 hits in the game. Hudson Hoy led the team with three hits in the contest. Stufft and Good each collected multiple hits for Northeastern. Stufft, Peerey and Yusei Uzawa each stole multiple bases during the contest. The Plainsmen were able to turn three double plays.
