Northeastern Baseball Gets Back-To-Back Victories Over Luna Community College, Winning Game Three 13-6
Northeastern Baseball took down Luna Community College 13-6 in game three of the four game home series on Thursday. Harrison Good was named the DDC Player of the Game. Good went 3-3 at the plate, hitting one home run, drawing one walk, scored three runs and knocked in three runs.
The Plainsmen jumped into the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after Yusei Uzawa walked, Tanner Peerey was struck by a pitch and Brayden Stufft grounded into a double play, each scoring one run. Northeastern flipped the game on it's head in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring 5 runs on four hits, to take the lead 8-6. The biggest blow in the inning was home run to right field by Peerey that drove in three runs. The Plainsmen scored 5 more runs of 5 hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Max Valerio singled, scoring one run, Hudson Hoy doubled, scoring two runs and Good homered to center field, scoring two runs.
Ondrej Vank started the game for Northeastern. Vank went 4.2 innings, giving up 6 runs (three earned) on four hits, walking four batters and striking out three batters. Makoy Lucero earned the win after going 1.1 innings, walking one batter and striking out one batter. Brayden Stork threw one inning, walking one batter and striking out one batter.
The Plainsmen recoreded 14 hits in the contest. Good and Valerio each collected three hits in the game. Peerey led the team with four runs batted in. Zach McVay led the Plainsmen with two walks.
