Northeastern Baseball Makes It Three In a Row Over Trinidad State, Winning Game Three 11-3

Northeastern easily dispatched Trinidad State on Saturday, 11-3.

The Plainsmen got on the board in the first inning after DDC Player of the Game, Nate Glad homered to left field, scoring two runs.

Northeastern added one run in the second. Michael Clark hit a sacrifice fly, making the score 3-1.


The Plainsmen scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored one run, George Greene doubled, scoring one run, Zach McVay doubled, scoring one run, and Cannon Utz doubled, scoring two runs.

Trinidad scored one run in the top of the fourth on a solo home run to left field by Carson Barlow.

The Trojans scored one run in the top of the seventh on a solo home run to left field by Silas Hilton.

Tony Slizowski earned the win for Northeastern. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over four innings, striking out five and walking three. Taden Svendsen took the loss for Trinidad. The hurler went two and two-thirds innings, giving up eight runs on five hits, striking out three and walking six. Jaiven Baca appeared in relief for Northeastern.

Northeastern piled up nine hits in the game. Greene and McVay were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for the Plainsmen while hitting back-to-back. Glad and McVay each drove in two runs for Northeastern. Riley Suarez led Northeastern with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. The Plainsmen ran wild on the base paths, collecting five stolen bases for the game. Northeastern didn't commit a single error in the field. Glad had the most chances in the field with nine.
