NJC teams play at Eastern Wyoming

The Northeastern Junior College (NJC) women’s and men’s basketball teams split Region IX South games Friday at Eastern Wyoming College (EWC) in Torrington, Wyo.

 

In the women’s game NJC lost 69-57, falling to 7-17 overall and 3-8 in Region IX South.

In the men’s contest the Plainsmen defeated EWC 92-78, improving to 11-15 overall and 7-7 in Region IX South. NJC won at home against Eastern Wyoming on Jan. 9 by a 76-64 score.

Both NJC teams will close out the regular season with 3 games each this week.

Tonight (Wednesday) NJC will welcome in Northwest Kansas Technical College, with the women’s game at 5:30 p.m. and the men will tip-off at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday the Plainswomen will host Fort Carson Air Force Base in a 6 p.m. tip-off time. The Plainsmen will entertain Laramie County Community College in a Region IX South contest at 4 p.m. NJC lost at Laramie County 105-101 on Jan. 13.

Both NJC teams will close out the regular season Monday in Region IX South games at Lamar Community College. The Plainswomen defeated Lamar 95-84 on Feb. 6 while the Plainsmen were also victorious with an 80-78 overtime win.
