Northeastern Softball Finishes Off 2 Game Sweep Over Dakota College at Bottineau Winning Game 2 14-0

Mikaeyla Llamas collected three hits in three at bats, as Northeastern defeated Dakota College at Bottineau Lady Jacks 14-0 on Sunday at Sterling. Llamas singled in the first inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

Northeastern scored 14 runs in the first inning on the way to victory. Kelsi Jurczewsky singled, scoring one run, DDC Player of the Game, America Griffin singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, Tati Hunt doubled, scoring two runs, Madison Birt singled, scoring one run, Llamas singled, scoring one run, Jurczewsky was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Griffin singled, scoring two runs, Reina Roberts singled, scoring two runs, and Birt singled, scoring one run.

Maddie Cline earned the win for Northeastern. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Keely Thornton took the loss for the Lady Jacks. The right-handed pitcher went two and one-third innings, allowing 14 runs (six earned) on 13 hits, striking out none and walking none. Brook McNeil threw two innings of zero-run ball for NJC in relief. The pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out three and walking none.

Northeastern amassed 14 hits in the game. Griffin provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led NJC with three runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Brodie Wilcoxen, Birt, and Addison Steele each collected multiple hits for NJC. Llamas and Jurczewsky each stole multiple bases for NJC. NJC stole seven bases in the game. NJC were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Hunt had the most chances in the field with six.

Northeastern welcomes in Western Nebraska for a two game home series on the 17th.
