Northeastern Softball Falls To Colby Community College 5-4
Even though Northeastern collected four hits to Colby's three, they still fell 5-4 on Sunday. Brodie Wilcoxen, Tatiana Hunt, Kelsi Jurczewsky, and DDC Player of the Game, Addison Steele each collected one hit for Northeastern.
A home run to right field by Steele put NJC on the board in the top of the first.
Emmy Supernor homered to right field, which helped the Trojans tie the game at three in the bottom of the fourth.
A fielder's choice by Supernor gave Colby the lead, 5-3, in the bottom of the sixth.
Marisa Reyes opened the game for Northeastern. The hurler surrendered three hits and five runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out one and walking three. Cheyenne Cramer stepped in the circle first for Colby. The starter gave up four hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking two.
Steele provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led NJC with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-1 on the day. Northeastern turned one double play in the game.
