#3 Northeastern took down #10 Utah State Eastern in a 5 set thriller (22-25, 21-25, 30-28, 26-24, 15-11) to move to 9-4 on the year. Avery Burdette was named the DDC Player of the Game. he stepped up as a leader, especially in defense and serve receive, with an unofficial stat line of 3 kills, 13 digs, and 5 aces.
Asia Montagnani contributed an unofficial 14 kills and Natalie Moore added another 11 kills to help aid the Plainswomen in the victory. The team started slowly, dropping the first two sets, but showed great grit and determination to secure the win. The key to success was their heart and perseverance in tough moments.
They will play #10 Utah State Eastern again on Friday, September 13th, at 2:30 PM during the Sheila Worley Tournament at the Bank of Colorado Event Center.
