Northeastern Plainswomen Volleyball Finishes Off Season With A 6th Place Finish At Nationals
The Plainswomen did not finish the season the way that they hoped, but they have nothing to hang their heads about. The Plainswomen faced off against Missouri State-West Plains in the fifth place game on Saturday. Northeastern started off hot winning the first set, but they couldn't manage to take another set off of the Grizzlies. Ultimately the Plainswomen fell 3-1 and ended their season with a sixth place finish at Nationals. Northeastern swept their way past Trinity Valley in the opening round on Wednesday, fell to Colby in three sets on Thursday, took down Utah State Eastern on Friday in straight sets and lost in four sets to MSU-WP. Northeastern finished off the season with a 33-7 record, after looking at the schedule they had to take on this year, the Plainswomen should be very proud of that record. This year's sophomores finished off their career's at NJC with the best two year record of any players in school history. They were able to compile a 69-10 record in their two years with the Plainswomen. Coach Kenzie Chrisman also surpassed the 200 game coached mark while at Nationals.
Northeastern Nation is beyond proud of all the achievements all these players recorded this year and all the achievements the Sophomores have recorded the last two years. We wish farewell to Anna Ruter, Francesca Nuzzo, Nerea Alvarez Jorge, Rosa Brencic, Emily Maske, Avery Burdette, Rebecca Wiersema, Asia Montagnani and Kennedy Halper. We look forward to seeing the Plainswomen getting back to work and can't wait for next year!
