Northeastern Plainswomen Obtain Their First Conference Win After Taking down Lamar Community College 81-64
In a thrilling display of basketball prowess, the Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen secured a decisive 81-64 victory against the Lamar Community College Runnin' Lopes on February 5, 2025, at the Bank of Colorado Event Center. The Plainswomen's performance not only captivated their fans but also marked a significant south region victory in their junior college basketball season.
The game began with intense competition, but by halftime, the Plainswomen had carved out a lead with a score of 35-28. By maintaining their momentum through the second half, they were able to widen the gap and secure a comfortable win. Notably, Rebecca Wiersema was a standout player, being named the DDC Player of the Contest. Wiersema achieved a career-high 17 points and contributed significantly with three steals.
