Northeastern Volleyball Dominates Ranger College In Opening Game Of LCCC Tournament
In a compelling demonstration of skill and team cohesion, the Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen Volleyball team handily won their preseason match against Ranger College with a comprehensive scoreline of 3-0 on August 29, 2025. The match, held at Laramie County Community College, was a clear showcase of the Plainswomen's prowess on the court.
The match started with an overwhelming victory in the first set where NJC led Ranger College by a score of 25-5. The momentum was clearly in favor of the Plainswomen, guided by strategic executions and solid defense. The second set followed a similar pattern with NJC securing it at 25-8. Ranger College struggled to gain ground against the relentless offensive plays of NJC. By the third set, despite Ranger College's best efforts to rally, NJC closed the match with a 25-18 win, concluding the game in straight sets.
Key players for NJC included Samantha Mosley leading with 9 kills and Kaitlyn Barnes contributing both offensively with 8 kills and defensively, being lauded as the DDC player of the game. Kiera Heaven LOE also stood out with 8 kills and 3 aces. Taelynn Epple played a significant role defensively with 5 block assists, supporting the team's strong defensive strategy. Additional contributions came from Stella Carrer, who made 31 assists and Evie Gavette, who ensured defense with 12 digs.
