Northeastern Volleyball Earns Another Hard Fought Win, Taking Down Salt Lake Community College In a Reverse Sweep
In an exhilarating pre-season volleyball encounter held at College of Southern Idaho on September 6, 2025, the Northeastern Junior College (NJC) Plainswomen displayed outstanding resilience to triumph over Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) Bruins in a challenging five-set match, ending with a scoreline of NJC 3 - SLCC 2.
The match began with NJC trailing in the first two sets, losing 16-25 and 24-26 respectively. Despite the initial setbacks, the Plainswomen initiated a remarkable comeback, securing victories in the subsequent sets with scores of 25-18, 25-21, and a decisive 15-11 in the final set. This turnaround was largely credited to Akilisi Pahulu, whose performance earned her the DDC player of the match. Pahulu was pivotal, making strategic set choices and executing crucial defensive maneuvers that shifted the momentum in favor of NJC.
