#5 Northeastern Volleyball Takes Down #18 Iowa Western in 4 Sets

In a thrilling pre-season volleyball event held on September 12, 2025, at Northeastern Junior College, the Plainswomen showcased their prowess by defeating the Iowa Western Community College Reviers with a final score of 3-1. This match marks an optimistic start for Northeastern in their volleyball campaign.

The game commenced with a challenging first set where Iowa Western took the lead with a 25-17 set score, outperforming Northeastern. However, the Plainswomen responded with vigor, turning the table in the subsequent set by rallying to a 25-19 victory. Building on this momentum, Northeastern dominated the third set with a decisive 25-14 win, highlighting their strong defense and effective strikes.

The fourth set proved competitive as both teams vied closely, but Northeastern managed to clinch the set at 25-22, thus securing the overall win. Stellar performance by Stella Carrer, who was named DDC player of the match, played a pivotal role. Her exceptional skills in distributing the ball energized the Plainswomen's offensive strategy.

Looking forward, Northeastern is scheduled to face New Mexico Military Institute on September 5, 2025, at Northeastern Junior College. With a current record of 11-3, the Plainswomen aim to continue their strong performance as they advance through the season.
