#5 Northeastern Volleyball Wins a Nail Biter of Laramie County Community College in 5 Sets

In a tightly contested Region IX North volleyball showdown, the Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen pulled out a narrow victory against the Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles, with a final score of NJC 3, LCCC 2.

The match commenced strongly for Northeastern, as they took the first set 25-18, setting a robust pace against Laramie County. Continuing their dominant form, the Plainswomen secured the second set with a comfortable 25-14 scoreline. However, the momentum shifted in the third set, where LCCC fought back to take it 25-21, signaling their not-yet-defeated spirit. The fourth set was a nail-biter, witnessing an intense battle that extended beyond the usual limits, with LCCC ultimately edging out NJC 30-28. With everything to play for in the fifth and deciding set, Northeastern Junior College reasserted their authority, winning 15-9 and sealing the match.

Key to the Plainswomen's success was the standout performance of Kaitlyn Barnes, who was recognized as the DDC Player of the Match. Despite being a target for LCCC's strategic serves, Barnes maintained her composure and followed the game plan effectively, which was crucial in pivotal moments of the match.

Looking ahead, the Plainswomen will face Southeast CC at home on October 10, 2025. Currently holding a strong season record of 21-3, the team is eager to maintain their momentum in the upcoming games.
