Northeastern Volleyball Falls To Snow College In Straight Sets at LCCC Volleyball Invite
In an intense preseason volleyball match on August 30th at the Laramie County Community College, Northeastern Junior College (NJC) struggled against a strongly coordinated Snow College, ultimately losing in three straight sets.
The Plainswomen faced the Badgers head-on from the start, but the opponent edged ahead to finish the first set at 25-18, setting a challenging pace for NJC. The pattern continued with the Plainswomen unable to find their rhythm as Snow College won the second set with an identical score of 25-18. The third set saw a slight increase in resistance from NJC, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Badgers from sweeping the match with a 25-17 win in the final set.
Despite the overall team setbacks, individual performances on NJC's side were noteworthy. Kaitlyn Barnes, recognized as DDC player of the game, scored impressively with 10 kills, showcasing her effectiveness on the court. Stella Carrer played a critical role with 12 digs and 16 assists, contributing defensively and offensively. Additionally, Akilisi Pahulu made an impact with her service aces, highlighting key moments during the match for the Plainswomen.
Looking forward, Northeastern Junior College will remain at Laramie County Community College for their next fixture on the same day, facing Garden City Community College. This match presents an opportunity for the Plainswomen to regroup and adjust their strategies in hopes of a more favorable outcome.
